Fairway & Greene Solid Lisle S/S Shirt$85.00
|
Fairway & Greene's cotton lisle is made from a - stay with us - fine gauge, long staple, two-ply, double mercerized Peruvian pima cotton. Pima Cotton is Fairway & Greene's signature fiber. It is the base of their Golf Shirts and Cotton Sweaters. Pima Cotton is prized all around the world as a luxury fiber because of its silky soft feel and brilliant luster. The feel of the cotton is a result of the excellent growing conditions in the northern coastal valleys where it is cultivated. Peruvian Pima Cotton is harvested by hand, resulting in a brilliant white shade that can be easily dyed. Cotton harvested industrially leaves scratchy impurities, which affect smoothness and creates a yellowish color to the fiber. This fiber is classified as luxury because of its 1 3/8" length, ordinary cottons measure half to three quarters as much in length. If you love that sort of detail, you might also want to know that it is a gassed yarn meaning that the yarn is run over a flame to burn away any impurities.
No one else in the golf apparel business goes to such lengths, which is why these shirts are sold exclusively at private country clubs and only the top public courses (think Pebble Beach). In fact, we sell a book on the site that has the Top 100 Courses in the U.S.; Fairway & Greene shirts are sold at almost all of them: Shinnecock Hills, Pine Valley, Baltusrol, Olympic Club, Seminole, Winged Foot, and Merion to name a few. More importantly, you won't find these shirts at the local muni course or even at the nearby golf superstore.
The ultimate compliment to Fairway & Greene had to be when Hal Sutton, captain of the 2004 U.S. Ryder Cup team approached them about doing the shirts that would be worn by the best American golfers as they represented our country.
All Fairway & Greene shirts come logo-free, unless Embroidery is chosen below. A "Tonal" logo will use thread that is almost the same shade as the shirt for a subtle logo, while "Contrast" uses a color that shows distinctly. Please add 4-6 days in estimated delivery time in addition to shipping time.
Notes:
Every piece of Fairway & Greene golf apparel can be embroidered for tournaments or corporate events, and volume pricing may be available. Please call us toll-free at 877.547.2720 to discuss your specific needs.
Please allow 4-6 days for embroidery of the Fairway & Greene Tour Logo on individual shirt orders.
Fairway & Greene golf apparel is sold through private country clubs and top public courses in the country. You will not find their line at golf retail stores or your local muni. On The Fly is very proud to be the exclusive online retailer of Fairway & Greene products.

The modern gentleman notices the little things, and there is plenty to notice about our Signature Gift Wrap. The paper is a custom-printed navy beaded pinstripe pattern evocative of a classic men's suit fabric. The white satin ribbon is tied in a square knot. But we think it's the enclosure card sealed with hot wax that shows we put as much care into the gift presentation as you put into its selection.
